A wonderful summer in the BalticMac tours Scandinavia and Russia aboard the Star Princess
|
To really understand our world, there is nothing like actually going to different places, mingling with the locals, gaining an appreciation for diverse cultures.
For Mac Frampton, the summer of 2006 has been a wonderful geography lesson for starters! He has traveled to Copenhagen, Denmark; Stockholm, Sweden; Helsinki, Finland; St. Petersburg, Russia; Tallinn, Estonia; Gdansk, Poland; northern Germany; and Oslo, Norway. He has sampled the local cuisine, learned a few words in many different languages, and left a bit of the good old Greenback behind.
Says Mac: "I truly feel blessed to have the opportunity to go all over the world, meeting so many different people, and having the privilege of sharing my music with them." Mac has been touring the Scandinavian area aboard the beautiful Star Princess, a luxury liner that accommodates 2700 passengers, along with a crew of 1100. During each of the summer's 10-day cruises, he performs two different concerts. Mac also finds the time to do a lot of music arranging for not only himself but for other performers. He is also busy at work on his new production, "Yesterday Once More." "There is never a dull moment for me," adds Mac. "I awaken each day with a new set of musical challenges, and I get to mix my work with the many pleasures of the countries we are visiting."
If you have never been on a cruise ship, Mac encourages you to get aboard soon. If you are a veteran cruiser, you certainly understand why. There is nothing quite like life at sea!

The Mediterranean is always a great place to visit. "There's no better time to see it than in the Fall," says Mac. "The crowds have departed, the air is crisp and cool, you couldn't ask for better!"
For 12 days in late September, Mac and wife Nancy toured the countries of Italy, Greece, and Turkey, bringing back many lasting memories and a few select purchases. While onboard the Golden Princess, which accommodates 2700 passengers, Mac performed two complete shows before standing room only audiences. "I can't recall a more exciting or rewarding time on a ship," says Mac. "If they will show me where to sign up for another one like this, I'll get my pen out."
For sure, there will be more times on some of the world's most beautiful ships, and you are invited to join Mac, see the world, and hear some great music along the way!

Yesterday Once More to anchor new concert season!Mac's latest revue takes us back to the 70s
"Now they’re back again, just like a long lost friend, all the songs I loved so well."
So go the lyrics of The Carpenters’ classic, Yesterday Once More. How true! Nothing rekindles youth or revives the spirit like a great old song. The Seventies ushered in a feel-good era just when we needed it the most. And now Mac Frampton brings to the stage an exciting new show featuring the greatest musical moments from a decade brimming with muscular pulse, down home grit, and old-fashioned romanticism.
Yesterday Once More tells the dramatic story of a transition from bell-bottoms to sequins; from Miss Saigon to the Divine Miss M; from love-ins to the Love Boat; from street protests to disco mania. Imagine a performance packed with the music of Elton John, Paul McCartney, Anne Murray, Barry Manilow, Donny & Marie Osmond, Neil Diamond, John Denver, Olivia Newton-John, Jimmy Buffet, Karen Carpenter, James Taylor, and Billy Joel! Toss in a splash of The Eagles, The BeeGees and The Village People. Bring itto the stage with an all-star ensemble of seven singers and musicians, and it’s truly Yesterday Once More!
Ingeniously scripted and staged with evocative sets and stunning costumes, Yesterday Once More relives a time too precious to forget: those happy days when legendary performers knew how to deliver “the songs that make the whole world sing!”
Please plan to attend one of the concerts scheduled for the inaugural season of "Yesterday Once More!" We look forward to seeing you.

"In all my years of touring, I don't think I've ever been more pleased with a production," exclaims Mac, talking about his critically acclaimed show, "Pop Go The Classics."
The show has been a work in progress throughout Mac's career. "When I first started performing professionally, I worked mainly college campuses. I was determined that in the midst of my jazz and rock music I was going to insert an occasional piece of classical music, but I didn't want to turn the students off. So I dressed the music up with a contemporary sound: drums, bass, and so forth. A few years ago I realized I had enough material to do an entire show. 'Pop Go The Classics' was born!"
This production features Mac and his Cecil Welch, who was Henry Mancini's solo trumpet player for nearly two decades. They are supported by a world-class instrumental ensemble. The music ranges from "The William Tell Overture" to "Air On a G String" to "The Nutcracker Suite," all of it arranged with a contemporary flair.
Make your plans to catch "Pop Go The Classics" when it comes to your area. Says Mac: "I guarantee that you will not be disappointed. We have created an awesome production!"
